Fashion & Textile Graduates of Bray Institute of Further Education (BIFE) are proud to present their 2013 Showcase on Thursday May 23. We would like to invite you to an evening of fashion, music and refreshments where the 12 fashion students will show their final year collections.
For those who will be unable to attend, the exhibition will be on during the day all week, with an OPENING NIGHT for FRIENDS and FAMILY on the TUESDAY evening, so there is still an opportunity to see our work.

Opening times:
Tue 21st MAY 7pm-9pm (OPENING NIGHT)
Wed 22nd MAY 10am-5pm
Thurs 23rd MAY 10am-9pm (FASHION STUDENTS SHOWCASE)
Friday 24th MAY 10am-1pm

Renowned DJ Handsome Paddy will be providing the tunes and there will be an opportunity to purchase some of the designers’ creations, not only garments but also custom made handbags and jewellery.

Please put this date in your diaries and join us for a celebratory night.

BIFE is located on Novara Avenue in Bray Co. Wicklow. Please see attached map below. There is train service going from Dublin and Greystones as well as buses 145, leaving from Heuston Station going through Dublin, every ten minutes and 184 from Greystones.

Sure, nothing can beat that lovely view from the train ☺

print_

so prep for the exhibition is underway, I thought i'd share my clothes labels with you. its a simple design, with three layers of swing tags. the first layer is on tracing paper, with the collection name, beneth that is squared paper and below that again is the garment name. each garment is named after a modernist architect and the final tag has a quote from the architect as well as a piece of their work.

I also made some simple buisness cards in keeping with the design which uses the grid and courier font

publish_

As part of the "digital image, creation and development" module, we were asked to design a magazine cover, including a two page spread. I wanted to keep the design as minimalistic as possible, using a basic font and colour scheme. I used one strong image from the photo shoot to highlight the clean, cool aesthetic of the pieces.

As of yet the magazine is not completed, but I wanted to document the process.

update*
here is the finished magazine.....

collar casting_

designers  bergnerschmid follow the design principle that "less is more", creating wearable accessories from concrete.

"concrete stands for this clean and cool aesthetic and therefore becomes the principle of our design."

inspired by their work, I wanted to create a piece of jewellery to add to my collection which would embody this design ethos. Below is a step by step guide to making a simple collar necklace.
